Crossing the divide - a history of Alpha and Jericho districts by Janice Cooper
The Jericho Shire, formed in 1916, covered 22 888 square kilometres across the Great Dividing range in central Western Queensland and included the rural districts of Alpha and Jericho, and in earlier times, Pine Hill. This is a history of the pastoral industry, of transport and communication, local government, schools and organisations, and highlights the role played by over 800 men, women and children who spent part or all of their lives in the area from early European settlement until the Shire was amalgamated in 2008.

86+ photographs, 55+ archival extracts, 24 maps, plans and tables. Detailed appendices and index.
