Thirty Years With Men by Harry Ding
Harry Ding sold his Maree to Birdsville mail run to Tom Kruse in 1948. That says something.

This book is the real deal. 'Recollections of the pioneering years of transportation in the deserts of 'outback' Australia' is an understatement. These are the memoirs of a man starting with a horse and cart, and who had the Birdsville Track mail run for twelve years. His work with Alfred Traeger of pedal radio fame enabled contact to be maintained with his trucks from a base in Yunta SA, and when united with the Flying Doctor Bases in Cloncurry, Queensland, and Wyndham WA made a triangle linking the interior of Australia. He was a pioneer in the movement of livestock by road.
