Few people have had the impact on Winton, Western Queensland, that William Henry Corfield (1843-1927) had. He set up  many business partnerships. They established the North Gregory Hotel and the Corfield and Fitzmaurice store.

Corfield was a carrier using bullock teams, a store keeper, miner and politician.
