Barcaldine Downs - sheep shearers, shed hands & strikes by Ian Waples
A 562 page, indexed book on a property established in Westgern Quieensland in 1863. Originally a holding of 200 square miles (128,000 acres), through resumptions and sale of out-stations, this has been reduced to 50,000 acres.
The station experienced a murder, a case of insanity, strikes, political and vice-regal visitations, and enthusiastic station cricket team, fund raising events for the hospital, race meetings, and of course floods and droughts.
Plenty of photographs and newspaper articles.
